CULINARY USES: Bulbine Leek has a bulb that is fleshy and nutritious. It has a lovely nutty flavour when roasted. The roots have a unique leek/spring onion flavour, ideal for garnish in savoury dishes such as salads, soups and omelettes.

DESCRIPTION: Bulbine Leek is a perennial plant with lush green foliage and edible bulb and roots. Stunning long flowering stems with yellow starry flowers appear in spring and summer.

GROWING CONDITIONS: Plant in well-drained soils in a sunny aspect. Tolerates frost to -8 degrees, extended dry conditions and coastal plantings.

FOR BEST RESULTS: Under-water rather than over water. Fertilise regularly to maintain lush growth.
